WHAT IS ROTARY COMPRESSION

Pedrick Pipe, Tube, and Solid BarStock Benders operate on the rotary compression bending principle. It consists of a stationary die and an arm that rotates around the die and wipes the material to be bent into the die.

Bends can be produced in pipe and tubing that can be used to reduce cutoffs, end preparation, fittings and welds, which saves money. The compression bending process is well suited for bending heavy sections.

Solid round barstock (1/4 - 3 in. OD) can be bent for many industrial applications. A variety of structural, roll-formed, and extruded sections can be bent using the rotary compression bending process.

Model D-20 Pipe & Tube Bending Machine

The Model D-20 shares the same platform as the Model D-15. It has heavier gears, bearings and a 20 HP geardrive. While this bending machine is rated for bending 5 inch IPS it is more frequently used for bending 4 inch schedule 80 IPS high tensile steel and heavy walled boiler tube. These machines have been popular with the United States Navy for many years.

Like our smaller benders this machine is supplied with a three phase motor with an electric brake. The brake insures accurate bend angles and repositioning at the end of a bending cycle.
